Fisgard Lighthouse
Fisgard Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse on the West Coast of Canada, built in 1860 to help protect ships against the rugged coastline of the island. Canada's scenic coastline is a treacherous as it beautiful to see and the life of the keeper was a lonely and solitary existence. The lighthouse was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1958, and is also a Classified Federal Heritage building.
