Chemainus - Fall 2010
Chemainus, BC, is the quintessential "Town That Could". It very nearly became a ghost town when the logging industry took a major hit in BC in the nineties. A lot of artisans live in the town, and someone decided that if they were to paint a series of murals on the sides of buildings in town, this could drive tourists to come for a visit. The idea worked and Chemainus is now a living and thriving town. It is chock full of little shops that all contain very unique items and has several restaurants and attractions that really make the town stand out. We will be doing further photographic studies of this town in the future, and for now we've posted this series.
