I saw that they had torn that building down, it was a matter of time. I didn't know it was that old, that's a bit of a shame to lose another piece of our architecture that has roots in our heritage. Please stay in touch James, I'd be interested in checking out your book!

It's Called 'the Grand Pacific Hotel' and its about this guy named Cecil who works a tedious job of hauling bell carts and such, and he has to battle his enemy, the service elevator! :) Oh and they tore down the apartment building on cook street recently. it had a fire and that was the end of that. Did you know it was built in 1913?

Wow, that's interesting indeed, thanks for following up with us on that James. I wasn't aware the building was as old as it was, quite honestly at the time I shot it I really thought it looked good enough to refurbish. What book are you working on, that sounds interesting?

The Address is 4808 West Saanich. It was called the 'beaver lake store' and came about in 1934. I hope it is still kicking as I am using it in my new online-book. They tore it down in 2012
